Donna shares her secrets on the
elusive “travelling sewing kit.” This
applies to the tools that might be
used most often at a meeting
when the Sew Crazies are sewing.
A kit should have: fabric scissors,
thread scissors, assortment of
hand sewing needles, basic
threads (black, white, tan, red),
seam ripper, tape measure,
sewing gauge, assortment of
needles for your machine, 2-3
bobbins, tweezers, small
screwdrivers (flat and phillips) and
bandaids. A few misc. buttons,
chalk, a dime and nickle (for
buttonhole placement) are also
handy.

Unicoi Cats Have New Place to Rest
The cats at the Unicoi County Animal Shelter recently received 25 hammocks from Sew
Crazy to make their cages a little more comfy until they find their “fur-ever” homes.
Sew Crazy tries to include at least one project each year for our four-legged friends, mostly
those in area shelters which are dealing with at capacity numbers of homeless animals.
While Sew Crazy enjoys sewing for all the critters, it would be better if there was far fewer
for us to sew for snd the area’s shelters to care for. If you are considering adding a furbaby
to your home, visit one of our shelters first. There’s hundreds of critters who need a home,
so you’re sure to find the perfect one for you!
Sew Crazy is currently not accpeting
fabric donations as our storeroom is
full to the brim! We will keep you
informed when we are able to resume
accepting your fabric donations.
Thank you for all your suuport!
Sam the Cat officially accepts the cat hammocks made for Unicoi County Animal Shelter.
